The Prague Pride queer femme party will be all fun and great music
This year, the Prague Pride brings you something new: a queer femme party. The unforgettable Beaver Lez Party will take place on the two floors of the Eternia/Underdog’s clubs (Nádražní 3, Praha – Smíchov) on Friday, 10 August, from 8 p.m. As soon as you arrive, you’ll get a hairy armband – and in fact, all the interior will be hairy!
What can you expect?
Several DJs will invite you to the dance floor. Mary C, the cultural activist and the only Czech DJ at the party, will play black music and electronics.
Beatrice Eli (SWE) will mesmerize you with schmaltz and electronic music.
The wild Kierastoboy (RU) has a soft spot for Prague, combines funk, acid and house music, and she’ll definitely perk you up.
Tami T. (SWE) will play romantic and dance rhythms, and if you don’t know her hit I Never Loved This Hard This Fast Before, we can highly recommend it.
Finally, you can get immersed in the music with a touch of magic played by Mala Herba (PL).
All the DJs will give your beaver goose bumps.
The party will continue until 3 a.m., and in addition to great music, you can also expect the visual exploration of sexuality and sexual health by Anna Wim who says: “Open your mind and don’t be ashamed!”
If you find her show interesting, you might also like Les Bos, the installation by Powerhoes, that will record the sins of everyone involved into the core of an island. Which of your sins are worth recording?
The third exhibition, “The Time I Realized I Liked Girls”, has been prepared by June. If you like reading, watching movies, or playing computer games, you’ll love it because the selling exhibition presents fictional characters with a lesbian twist.
Powerhoes
What else can you expect? The trans + queer inclusive charity fair organized by Přestupní stanice (The Interchange Station), the organization that employs homeless people. At the party, they’ll present and sell clothes for all genders. Talking about the fashion: would you like to create your own decorations for the Prague Pride? Come to the workshop organized by the Feministická společnost (The Feminist Association). The material will be available for a voluntary contribution. And if you’d like to get something more permanent, head to the Queer Tattoo Space. The names of the tattoo artists will be announced on Facebook a few days before the event.
Apart from having fun, you can also learn something new. Come to the Loono workshop to learn how to detect breast cancer where you’ll get a chance to touch more than just your own boobs. True, they’ll be made of rubber, but it’s still better than nothing! And at the debate, art and movement workshop FORM & FLOW, you can learn something about yourself, your family and your role in it.
Come to the party, try some vegan food, get dizzy with great drinks and women, and meet more dykes with hairy or shaved beavers ;) If the weather is nice, you can sit in the outdoor seating area.
Last, but not least: The party is for all women, regardless of the un/tidiness of their intimate parts.
Tickets are now available for CZK 250. And if you come to the party in the nick of time, you’ll pay CZK 300 on the spot.
